Teen Among Three Dead in Triple Homicide in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – East Columbus witnessed two separate shootings late Friday night and early Saturday morning, resulting in three fatalities.

The first incident occurred at 11:51 p.m. Friday on the 700 block of Stelzer Road. Columbus Police found three individuals, including two juveniles, with gunshot wounds.

One male victim was declared dead at the scene at midnight, and two juveniles were rushed to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. One of the juveniles, 13-year-old Tauron Durham, was pronounced dead at 12:49 a.m. Saturday.


A subsequent shooting took place at 12:10 a.m. Saturday on the 2100 block of Cornell Street, three miles from the first scene. Malik Islam, 46, was found with a gunshot wound and transported to Ohio State East Hospital in critical condition.

He was pronounced dead at 12:26 a.m. Columbus Police stated that Islam was conversing with the suspect before being shot.
