FAR ROCKAWAY, NY – On Sunday morning, Courtney Gordon, 38, fatally stabbed four family members, including two children aged 11 and 12, before setting their Queens residence on fire.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) reported that officers arrived at the scene in Far Rockaway following a distress call from a young girl, who managed to escape by jumping out of a window.

Upon their arrival, Gordon, who was attempting to flee with luggage, assaulted two NYPD officers with a kitchen knife, inflicting serious injuries. One of the officers, a 28-year NYPD veteran, responded by fatally shooting Gordon. The injured officers were later treated at Jamaica Hospital and have since been released.

Inside the residence, police found the bodies of the young girl outside the house and three other victims, a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s, inside the house.

All victims suffered fatal stab wounds. A 61-year-old woman, also stabbed, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Gordon was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
