Woman Injured in Shooting on Cherry Street in Collingdale

COLLINGDALE, PA – The Collingdale Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Cherry Street on Saturday.

Officers were dispatched around 4:00 pm to the unit block of Cherry Street, where they found a female victim with a gunshot injury to her leg.

The victim, who has not been named, described the assailant as an unknown black male dressed in all black, who fled towards Chester Pike after firing the shot.


She was transported to Penn Presbyterian Hospital by Collingdale Fire Company and Mercy Fitzgerald EMS and was listed in stable condition.

Sgt. Patrick Crozier and the investigation team are actively seeking witnesses or residents with security camera footage. The public is asked to contact the Collingdale Police Department at 610-586-0502 with any relevant information. The department believes this to be an isolated incident with no further threat to public safety.
