BLOOMFIELD, CT – A shooting on Monday morning at a busy intersection in Bloomfield has resulted in the death of 31-year-old Timothy Ross. Responding to the scene around 8:50 a.m. in the 500 block of Bloomfield Avenue, officers found Ross with severe gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Saint Francis Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation, led by Bloomfield detectives, centered around a Toyota Camry with significant damage and a shattered rear driver-side window. At least six evidence markers were placed around the vehicle. The exact number of occupants at the time of the shooting is yet to be confirmed.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a tall, slim man in his 20s, considered armed and dangerous. The suspect’s vehicle, a white 2014 or 2015 Hyundai Tuscon with a GLS trim package, was last seen without a rear license plate, although it may have previously had a South Carolina plate JDD 955.

The Bloomfield Police Department asks anyone with information or surveillance footage from Cottage Grove Road and Bloomfield Avenue to contact them at 860-242-5501.

Following the incident, local schools increased security measures, and nearby businesses, including Starbucks and Trinity Health, were temporarily affected.
