Fugitive Gunman Sought in Shooting of 19-Year-Old in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY – The Rochester Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in the 19th Ward.

A 19-year-old man, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the incident.

The victim, having driven himself to a location on West Avenue, was discovered by officers responding to a call on Judson Street around 3:30. An SUV riddled with bullet holes was also found at the scene.


The victim is currently receiving treatment at Strong Memorial Hospital and is in serious but stable condition. As part of the investigation, two crime scenes are being processed.

Captain Ryan Tauriello of the Rochester Police Department emphasized the importance of witness accounts and the use of surveillance footage, including private cameras, in the investigation. No arrests have been made as the search for the shooter continues.
