DAYTONA, FL – A young man, Cameo Reid, 18, was apprehended for his alleged involvement in two armed robberies in the Daytona area.

The first incident occurred at Kelly’s Food Mart, located at 1000 Derbyshire Road, on November 23, around 1:30 p.m. According to the store employee, Reid, masked and armed, demanded her phone and cash while threatening her safety.

After looting the store, Reid reportedly fired a shot at the store owner who had attempted to pursue him. A single 9mm shell casing was found at the scene. Surveillance footage captured images of Reid and his vehicle, a white Hyundai Santa Fe.

Following a coordinated effort between the Volusia County Crime Center and the Daytona Beach Police Department, Reid was located at his home in Daytona Beach. His vehicle matched the description from the surveillance videos. On Tuesday, Reid was detained during a traffic stop.

A distinctive mask, linked to another robbery at a convenience store on Mason Avenue, was found in his car. Reid, initially arrested for driving with a suspended license, confessed to both robberies during questioning.
