Suspect Arrested for Murder of 21-Year-Old Ti’Jere Jackson in Woodbury

WOODBURY CITY, NJ – 21-year-old Ti’jere K. Jackson was fatally shot at Wing-Dickerson Park, 36 Carpenter Street, in the early hours of Saturday.

The Woodbury City Police Department, alerted at approximately 1:22 a.m., discovered Jackson with a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite emergency efforts, Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the shooting, a collaborative investigation by the Woodbury Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office identified a juvenile suspect. On the same day, around 3:30 p.m., the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division, alongside Woodbury Police and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, intercepted a vehicle in Woodbury Heights. The juvenile suspect linked to the homicide was apprehended during this operation.


James Workman, a 20-year-old from Barrington, was also arrested during the vehicle stop after allegedly pointing a firearm at the officers. The situation was resolved without further incident.

The Gloucester County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Jackson’s death as a homicide caused by a gunshot wound on Sunday. Charges have been filed against the juvenile in connection to the homicide.
