Fatal Shooting in D.C. Claims Life of 24-Year-Old Man

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a tragic incident in Southeast Washington, D.C., 24-year-old Tyejuan Harkum was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon. The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department has launched a homicide investigation following the event.

The shooting occurred around 3:53 p.m. in the 2600 block of Naylor Road. Responding officers found Harkum suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being quickly transported to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

Harkum, a resident of Northeast D.C., was identified as the victim. In an effort to gather more information and leads, the police are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
