Deadly Shooting in Essex Investigated by Baltimore County Police

ESSEX, MD – The Baltimore County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in Essex on the evening of December 9. At approximately 9:45 p.m., police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of Middlesex Rd., 21221. Upon arrival, they found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigations suggest the deceased was attempting to forcibly enter a residence when the homeowner, in defense, discharged a firearm, striking the intruder. As detectives delve deeper into the case, they urge anyone with relevant information or surveillance footage to contact the homicide detectives at 410-307-2020.
