Severe Weather Alert: Flood and Wind Advisories in Effect Across New Jersey

TRENTON, NJ – A significant weather system is expected to impact New Jersey from Sunday into Monday, as a strong cold front brings heavy rain and high winds to the region.

A Flood Watch is in effect for all counties from Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon. Additionally, a Coastal Flood Advisory is issued for Ocean County from 5 AM to 10 AM on Monday. Atlantic, Cape May, Monmouth, and Ocean Counties are also under a Wind Advisory for Sunday afternoon and night.

The expected conditions include gusty winds and heavy rain, with the most severe impacts likely from Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. Wind gusts could reach up to 40 mph inland and exceed 50 mph along the coast. The risk of localized inland flooding is high in areas receiving the heaviest rainfall. Minor tidal flooding is also possible in back bays during Sunday night and Monday morning.
