Philadelphia Suddenly Interested in Capturing Twelve Fugitive Murder Suspects in the City

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office is now claiming it wants to arrest twelve suspects wanted for murders across the city. Those suspects are currently on the street. Some for over four years, without arrest.

District Larry Krasner who has been accused of being soft on crime is now making a public effort to apprehend these fugitive murder suspects on the loose throughout the city,.

In an unprecedented move, Philadelphia law enforcement agencies, led by District Attorney Larry Krasner, the Philadelphia Police Department, and the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office, have issued a public appeal for assistance in locating 12 individuals wanted for a series of homicides in South and Southwest Philadelphia since 2019. This collaborative effort underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for community involvement in ensuring public safety.


  1. Jaque Houston (20) is implicated in a family tragedy. He allegedly shot and killed his 38-year-old stepfather during an argument on March 9, 2023. The altercation took place on the 1500 block of S. Dover Street in Grays Ferry. Investigators found eight 9mm cartridge casings at the scene, but the weapon was not recovered.
  2. Gary Yeiser (53) is wanted for a brutal attack caught on camera. He is accused of fatally bludgeoning a 68-year-old man during an afternoon dispute on August 27 on Dickinson Street in Point Breeze. The victim succumbed to injuries the next day, and a Third Degree Murder charge has been approved.
  3. Gustavo Casalez (25) is sought for a fatal stabbing incident. On the evening of February 3, 2022, in Elmwood Park, he allegedly stabbed a 32-year-old man to death on the 6400 block of Dorel Street during an argument.
  4. Basir Gillette (18) faces charges for a deadly shooting. On May 13, 2021, during an argument on South Ithan Street in Kingsessing, he reportedly shot a 16-year-old boy in the chest and injured the victim’s 13-year-old cousin. No firearm or ballistic evidence was found at the scene.
  5. Andre Goff (37) is wanted for an early morning shooting on September 23 on Chester Avenue in Kingsessing. He allegedly killed a 25-year-old man, but the motive remains unclear. Murder, Conspiracy, and other related charges have been filed.
  6. Jermaine Powell (46) is linked to a fatal shooting on May 13 near Haverford Avenue. He allegedly used a Taurus 9mm handgun and a Glock 9mm handgun. While dozens of fired casings were found, the motive is still unknown. His co-conspirator is already in custody.
  7. Seifuddin Sabir (36) is accused of a shooting on August 11, 2019, on Ford Road following an argument. He allegedly killed a 30-year-old man, with seven 9mm casings found but no weapon recovered.
  8. Kyle Smith (30) is implicated in a robbery-turned-homicide on September 22, 2021, near 56th Street and Osage Avenue. He allegedly shot a 46-year-old man in the head. While no weapon was found, his co-conspirator has been arrested in Florida.
  9. Nathaniel Thomas (33) is wanted for a shooting during a carjacking attempt on September 11, 2022, on Baltimore Avenue. He allegedly killed a 34-year-old man and faces charges of Murder, Robbery, and firearm offenses.
  10. Donald Whitingham (45) allegedly shot a 16-year-old boy in the chest outside a convenience store on South 70th Street in Elmwood Park on February 18, 2021. No weapon or ballistic evidence was recovered, but Murder and related charges have been filed.
  11. Malik Williams (24) is accused of fatally shooting a 19-year-old man in the chest during an argument on June 17, 2022, on Brooklyn Street. Investigators recovered a .40 caliber casing at the scene.
  12. Anthony Young (53) faces charges for a fatal shooting on October 17 on North 57th Street in Carroll Park. He allegedly killed a 36-year-old man during an argument, with a Ruger .357 caliber handgun and a fired casing found at the scene.

DA Krasner stressed the crucial role of public assistance in locating these suspects, noting that families across Philadelphia are mourning losses due to these violent crimes. He urged anyone with information about the whereabouts of these individuals to contact law enforcement immediately.
