SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse Police Officers Cicirello and Ferris engaged in a dramatic pursuit that led to the arrest of 43-year-old Michael Seaver. The incident began during a stolen vehicle traffic detail in the 800 block of North Salina Street.

Seaver, driving a 2014 Hyundai Sonata without headlights, refused to comply when officers attempted to pull him over. This refusal sparked a short but intense chase during which Seaver crashed through two metal fences near NBT Bank Stadium and caused a traffic collision at the intersection of Lemoyne Avenue and Grant Boulevard.

The pursuit came to an end in the 900 block of Lemoyne Avenue, where Seaver abandoned the vehicle in the front yard of a residence and attempted to flee on foot. However, officers quickly caught up with him, arresting him in the backyard of a home in the 3000 block of Grant Boulevard.

A search of the Hyundai Sonata revealed a Taurus 709 9mm semi-automatic handgun, loaded with one round in the chamber and five additional rounds in the magazine.

Following the incident, Seaver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and then transferred to the Onondaga County Justice Center. He faces charges including Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, along with several vehicle and traffic violations.
