POLK COUNTY, FL – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of two individuals from Tampa for grand theft auto. The arrests occurred early Wednesday morning on I-4.

Jeremiah C. Hamm, a 14-year-old from Tampa, was apprehended around 1:00 AM while driving a stolen 2000 Nissan pickup. Hamm, who expressed concern about missing a court appearance for a previous grand theft charge, was caught on I-4.

In a separate incident, Tamari Lucas, 24, also from Tampa, was arrested shortly after 1:00 AM near the Circle K at Hwy 27/Ronald Reagan Parkway. Lucas was driving a stolen 2022 Dodge Ram pickup truck. Upon learning of his arrest in Polk County under Sheriff Grady Judd’s jurisdiction, Lucas expressed dismay, acknowledging the county’s reputation for strict law enforcement.

Sheriff Grady Judd criticized the lack of adult supervision for the young offender and emphasized the seriousness with which his office handles such crimes.
