Columbus Police Charge Denzell Reed in November Homicide

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Division of Police has announced a significant development in a homicide case from November 9, 2023. On that day, at approximately 8:49 PM, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of Lilley. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim, Marvita McCaskill, at the rear of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. Ms. McCaskill was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, on December 13, 2023, Denzell Reed was charged with the murder of Ms. McCaskill. Mr. Reed is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail on additional charges related to a separate offense.
