Shots Fired During Road Rage Incident on I-78 in New Jersey

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – The New Jersey State Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the driver involved in a road rage incident on I-78 East, milepost 23.6, located in Readington Township, Hunterdon County.

At approximately 2:50 p.m. on Friday, December 15, an individual driving a white Dodge Ram pickup truck with dual rear tires and black lettering displaying business and DOT numbers on the passenger side engaged in a road rage confrontation with a tractor-trailer driver.

During this altercation, at least one shot was fired from the suspect vehicle’s passenger side window, striking the engine compartment of the tractor-trailer, subsequently rendering it inoperable.


Authorities are seeking any potential witnesses who may have observed the incident or have information regarding events leading up to or following the occurrence.
