Two Employees Shot Inside Bronx Smoke Shop During Apparent Robbery

MORRIS HEIGHTS, NY – A violent incident unfolded on Friday afternoon at Burnside Exotic, a smoke shop located at 15 W. Burnside Avenue in Morris Heights.

Two employees, aged 21 and 22, were shot following a dispute, according to police sources.

The shooting, which took place shortly after 2:20 p.m., resulted in the younger employee suffering a stomach wound and the other sustaining a leg injury. Emergency Medical Services transported both victims to St. Barnabas Hospital, where they are expected to recover.


The suspect, previously expelled from the shop earlier in the week, is believed to have targeted the employees. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation by local law enforcement continues.
