PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, NJ – The Parsippany-Troy Hills Office of Emergency Management is closely monitoring flooding along the Rockaway and Passaic Rivers. As of 7:30 PM, the Rockaway River reached Moderate Flood Level, prompting the closure of the Knoll Rd and Vail Rd bridges into Montville, along with New Rd between Rt. 46 and South Edwards Rd.
Currently, no evacuation orders are in place, and projections suggest minimal impact on Parsippany homes. Nevertheless, residents, especially those in low-lying areas of Lake Hiawatha east of Hoffman and Sioux Avenues and along Edwards Rd, Sagamore Rd, and New Rd, are advised to prepare for possible relocation. Essential items, including cell phones, chargers, identification, and medications, should be ready.
Residents should stay updated through township and police department social media for further instructions. The next update is scheduled for 7:00 AM, unless emergency conditions arise.
