Hackensack Grapples with Widespread Flooding, City Officials Urge Caution

HACKENSACK, NJ — Following an overnight deluge, Hackensack is confronting extensive flooding across the city. Authorities strongly advise against driving through inundated areas, emphasizing the significant risks involved, including potential vehicle damage, personal injuries, and the danger of fatalities.

Floodwaters can easily sweep away vehicles, even in seemingly shallow depths. Additionally, submerged roads may hide hazards, increasing the likelihood of accidents. Residents are urged to limit travel and stay updated on road closures and detours.

In case of emergencies, dialing 9-1-1 is recommended. City officials prioritize public safety and appreciate community cooperation as flood waters are expected to increase.
