NEW CASTLE, DE – A shooting in New Castle has led to the hospitalization of a 19-year-old male. Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police are investigating the incident which occurred on Monday, at 9:40 p.m.
Patrol officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Highland Boulevard following reports of the shooting. Upon arrival, they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body.
The responding officers provided lifesaving first aid, applying pressure to the wounds and using a tourniquet. The victim was then transported to a local hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
The New Castle County Division of Police is actively investigating this case. As it remains an open investigation, further details will be shared as they become available.
