MINEOLA, N.Y. – Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly announced the guilty plea of Jinaraya Khan, a 33-year-old Baldwin resident, for her role in a fatal crash in May 2022.

Khan was driving at 96 mph and was over three times the legal alcohol limit when she collided with Scott Freeman, 66, in Baldwin.

Khan pled guilty to charges including Aggravated Vehicular Homicide and is expected to receive a six to 18-year sentence on March 27, 2024.

The crash, which occurred on May 3, 2022, claimed the life of Freeman, who was making a left turn near his home.

Investigations revealed Khan’s excessive speed and high blood alcohol content at the time of the incident. She remained at the crash site and was arrested by the Nassau County Police Department.
