Elderly Man Sitting on Bench Randomly Attacked at Bay Parkway Station

NEW YORK, NY – The NYPD is investigating an unprovoked assault on a 70-year-old man at the Bay Parkway station on November 25, 2023.

At around 10:30 AM, the victim was sitting on a bench on the southbound D platform when an unidentified male approached and struck him in the face without provocation. The assailant then left the station and fled the area. The elderly victim sustained minor injuries and was taken by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Coney Island, where he is in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, dark brown hair, and a prominent beard. He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants with white stripes on the sides, black sneakers, black fingerless gloves, and carrying a black backpack.


Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the individual responsible for this attack.
