Everett Man Arrested for East Boston Murder

EVERETT, MA – On Friday, at around 8:00 AM, Edwin Mendez Hernandez, a 20-year-old from Everett, was apprehended by the Fugitive Unit in the area of 20 Hancock Street, Everett.

Hernandez was wanted for murder, based on a warrant from East Boston District Court, concerning the death of Wilfredo Landaverde Arevalo, a 34-year-old Medford resident.

The incident under investigation occurred on Friday, December 15. At approximately 6:39 AM, officers from District A-7 (East Boston) rushed to 186 Gove Street following a report of a stabbing.


Upon arrival, they found an adult male with critical stab wounds. The victim, later identified as Arevalo, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is leading the ongoing investigation into this case.
