HARRISBURG, PA – Raymeir Haynes and Correy Evans, also known as Correy Antonio Hill, have been sentenced for their roles in a deadly shootout on June 28, 2021, on Berryhill Street, resulting in the death of Erin Lapean.

The sentencing, conducted by Judge Edward M. Marsico, Jr., took place on Wednesday. A jury previously convicted both men and codefendant Deron Scott, Jr. on October 20, 2021.

Raymeir Haynes received a life sentence without parole, plus 7½ to 15 years for multiple charges including first-degree murder and aggravated assault. Correy Evans was sentenced to 17½ to 35 years for aggravated assault, firearm possession, and perjury. Deron Scott’s sentencing has been postponed, facing life without parole.

The incident on June 28, 2021, involved Haynes and Scott engaging in a shootout with Evans, during which Erin Lapean was fatally shot in the head while shielding her children. Video evidence and forensic analysis played crucial roles in the investigation, leading to the capture and conviction of the perpetrators.

The conflict was rooted in a feud between rival gangs, with Evans associated with the “All Nighter Boyz” and Scott with the “Pop Out Gang.”
