Arrest Made in Boonton Township Murder case

BOONTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, in collaboration with local law enforcement, announced the arrest of Kyle Meyer, 33, in connection to the December 24 homicide in Boonton Township.

Officials responded to an emergency call at a residence on Old Denville Road, where Gregory Meyer, 61, was found deceased. Investigations led to the identification of his son, Kyle Meyer, as the suspect. Meyer was apprehended in Paterson later that evening.

The Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office is set to perform an examination on the victim. Charges against Kyle Meyer include Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He is currently held at the Morris County Correctional Facility, awaiting a detention hearing.


The investigation is active and ongoing, with no further suspects sought and no perceived public danger.
