Police Investigating Tuesday Morning Shooting At Three While Sleeping in Car

ELLENDALE, DE — Delaware State Police are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Tuesday morning in an Ellendale neighborhood.

The incident took place on December 26 at around 7:08 a.m. in the 18000 block of New Hope Road. Troopers, responding to a shooting report at the location, discovered that three individuals — a 65-year-old man, a 34-year-old man, and a 34-year-old woman — were asleep in a car when an unidentified assailant fired multiple shots at the vehicle. The 65-year-old man sustained an arm injury from one of the bullets and was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries are reported as non-life-threatening. No other injuries were reported in the incident.

Currently, there is no available information regarding the suspect. Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Detectives are leading the ongoing investigation.
