ANNAPOLIS, MD – On December 27, at around 10:38 AM, Annapolis Police responded to gunfire in the 1200 block of Madison Street. Officers at the scene reported three suspects in all-black attire and masks fleeing the area.

A juvenile was detained near the 1100 block, where a crime scene was established and two firearms recovered.

An adult female sustained injuries from shattered glass when a vehicle was hit by the gunfire. Charges are pending against the juvenile suspect following consultation with the State’s Attorney’s Office.

This incident follows a similar occurrence on December 26, around 3:09 PM, where officers were alerted to shots fired in the 1100 block of Madison Street. Though no victims were found, shell casings were recovered at the processed crime scene, and local hospitals were notified.

Police Chief Edward Jackson addressed these consecutive incidents, emphasizing the department’s dedication to curbing the recent surge in gun-related activities.

“As the year concludes, our focus is on tackling this increase in gun discharges,” stated Jackson.

He further expressed a desire to collaborate with the community to reduce violence and restore peace in local neighborhoods.
