Suspect Passing Counterfeit Money for Newports at Annolis Store

ANNAPOLIS, MD – A theft incident involving counterfeit money occurred on December 26 at 10:18 PM in the 400 block of Sixth Street. Annapolis Police responded to the scene after receiving a report of the crime.

The suspect entered a store expressing intent to purchase 20 cartons of Newport cigarettes. After the store employee gathered the requested items, the suspect placed them in a bag he brought with him. He attempted to pay using counterfeit money but left the store in a dark-colored vehicle before the transaction was completed.

The investigation is ongoing as officers seek to identify and apprehend the suspect. Witnesses or individuals with information are encouraged to contact the Annapolis Police Department.
