BUFFALO, NY – Rickey D. Roberts, Jr., a 28-year-old resident of Buffalo, was arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Rebecca Town on Wednesday.

Roberts is charged with one count of Rape in the First Degree and one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, both Class “B” violent felonies.

The charges stem from an incident on Friday, December 8, around 11:00 p.m. in Buffalo.

The victim was approached by an unknown male, later identified as Roberts, who allegedly claimed possession of a firearm. Roberts is accused of forcibly engaging in sexual conduct and intercourse with the victim while threatening physical harm. Following the assault, the victim sought assistance from nearby individuals.

Roberts, who waived the felony hearing on Tuesday morning, remains held without bail. A future court date is yet to be scheduled. If convicted of the highest charge, he faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.
