Howard County Police Blotter: Holiday Happenings

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Howard County Police Department (HCPD) has reported several incidents of robbery, burglary, and vehicle theft occurring between December 23, 2023, and January 2, 2024.

Robbery Incidents:

  1. Elkridge, 21075: On December 30 at 7 p.m., at a 7-Eleven located in the 6500 block of Washington Boulevard, three male suspects with partially covered faces entered the store, brandished a handgun, and took cash before escaping. There were no injuries reported.
  2. Ellicott City, 21042: On the same day, at 9:09 p.m., an employee at Safeway on the 10000 block of Baltimore National Pike confronted a female suspect over stolen merchandise. The suspect then used pepper spray on the employee and fled in a vehicle with the items. The employee did not suffer serious injuries.

Commercial Burglary:


  • Mt. Airy, 21771: Between December 23 and 28, at D.R. Snell Nursery located in the 1000 block of Ridge Road, an unknown individual(s) entered through a potentially unlocked door, stealing cash and a personal check.

Residential Burglary/Vehicle Theft:

  • Columbia, 21045: Overnight between December 29 and 30, in the 6500 block of Wingflash Lane, an intruder(s) broke into a shed and stole a 2018 yellow Suzuki motorcycle.

The HCPD is investigating these incidents and asks anyone with information to come forward. The public can report any tips or leads to the Howard County Police Department to assist in the investigations.
