BERKELEY, CA – Theobald “Theo” Brooks Lengyel, known as Mylo Stone and a former member of the California rock band Mr. Bungle, has been arrested as a homicide suspect in the disappearance of his girlfriend, Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann. The arrest followed the discovery of a body in Berkeley’s Tilden Regional Park, though DNA confirmation is pending.

Herrmann, 61, a Capitola resident, was last seen alive on December 3, 2023. Her family reported her missing on December 12 after she missed a flight to Hawaii. According to the Capitola Police Department, Herrmann’s disappearance was treated as suspicious following evidence suggesting foul play.

Lengyel, 54, was arrested by Santa Cruz County authorities under a homicide warrant. His relationship with the victim came under scrutiny when Herrmann’s red 2007 Toyota Highlander SUV was found outside his El Cerrito residence.

Initially labeled as the “primary person of interest,” Lengyel was reportedly uncooperative during the early stages of the investigation. His history as a keyboardist, saxophonist, clarinet player, and founding member of Mr. Bungle adds a notable dimension to this case.

The investigation continues as authorities work to confirm the identity of the remains and unravel the circumstances surrounding Herrmann’s disappearance and presumed death.
