HICKORY, NC – Eric Carroll Parker, 64, has been sentenced to 48 to 70 months in a state correctional facility for his role in assisting his wife, Tangela L. Parker, evade authorities. This comes after Tangela Parker admitted to the fatal shooting of her co-worker, Phelifa Michelle Marlow, 51, at TCS Designs furniture plant in Hickory, North Carolina.

Catawba County Superior Court Judge Daniel A. Kuehnert delivered the sentence on Tuesday, crediting Eric Parker with approximately 2 1/2 years of time served in pretrial detention since his arrest.

The case stems from an incident three years ago when Tangela Parker, now 52, engaged in a “petty” workplace argument with Marlow, leading to the latter’s execution. Last year, Tangela Parker pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Marlow’s death and received a sentence of 20 to 25 years in prison.
