NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking public assistance to identify suspects involved in a pattern of robberies across the city, all linked by the use of a moped in committing the crimes.

The string of incidents began on Friday, December 15, where a 38-year-old woman was forcefully robbed of her purse near 1st Avenue and 52nd Street, suffering minor injuries during the encounter.

A few days later, on Monday, December 18, the moped criminals struck multiple times. A 37-year-old man was targeted near West 122 Street and Claremont Avenue in an attempted robbery. The same day in the Midtown North area, two separate incidents occurred. Firstly, a 22-year-old woman had her wallet stolen near 8 Avenue and West 53rd Street. Later, a 28-year-old woman’s purse was snatched near Lexington Avenue and East 59th Street.

The series of robberies continued into the evening when, again in the Midtown North area, a 40-year-old woman was robbed of her purse near East 55th Street and Lexington Avenue, resulting in her falling to the ground.

The New York City Police Department has released images of the suspects at DCPI and is asking to anyone with information about these incidents to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline.
