Toms River Restaurant Hosting Drag Brunch Party

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A bar and restaurant targeted last year by the mafia announced it is hosting a drag queen brunch on January 28th. Roxy’s Bar and Grill, occupying the former Charlie Brown’s restaurant site was involved in an incident with New York City mobsters who assaulted a man and woman outside the restaurant, threatening to burn it down.

That investigation led the FBI to make over a dozen arrests of mob-affiliated suspects and dig at two upstate New York farms in search of bodies.

Now, the restaurant is hoping to turn the page and move on.

The drag queen brunch was met with mixed emotions of Facebook.

“Join us for a sizzling and fabulous Pork Roll, Egg, & Queen Drag Brunch Party on January 28th at 11 am,” the restaurant posted on Facebook. “Indulge in a delectable brunch while enjoying the electrifying beats of DJ Chelli. Get ready for a morning filled with delicious bites, dazzling drag performances, and an unforgettable experience. Secure your spot by purchasing tickets now – it’s the ultimate brunch extravaganza you won’t want to miss!”

While many of the comments were negative toward the event, others were supportive and eager to attend.

As of Sunday morning, the restaurant had stopped taking reservations for the event.
