Glen Burnie Traffic Stop Leads to Weapons Charge

GLEN BURNIE, MD – On Saturday, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a routine traffic stop on Ritchie Highway near Warfield Road led to a significant arrest.

A green Honda Accord was stopped by a Northern District officer, who observed signs of alcohol impairment in the driver.

During the stop, the officer discovered a concealed firearm in the driver’s pants.


The driver, identified as Juan Sutton Jr., a 30-year-old resident of Glen Burnie, Maryland, resisted arrest and attempted to reach for the handgun.

With the assistance of another officer, Sutton was successfully restrained and subsequently arrested. He now faces charges related to DUI and unlawful possession of a firearm.
