NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department reports the arrest of a 16-year-old male following a daring escapade on the subway tracks of Forest Hills.

On the afternoon of December 30th, just before 5 PM, a band of unidentified thrill-seekers broke into the operator’s cabins of two stationary lead train cars at the Forest Hills-71st Avenue station. The brazen group managed to drive the trains northbound for a short distance before abandoning the cars and scattering on foot. Remarkably, no injuries were reported in the wake of the reckless stunt.

The NYPD, acting within the 112 Precinct and Transit District #20, is actively investigating the incident and has taken one teenage male into custody. He is believed to have been involved in the incident.

As the search for the remaining participants continues, authorities are reaching out to the public for assistance. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477)
