New Jersey Hoping to Boost Craft Beer Industry with the Jersey Brew Trail

The Garden State is enhancing its craft beer scene with the introduction of the Jersey Brew Trail, a new initiative aimed at promoting nearly 50 craft breweries across New Jersey. This innovative program offers beer enthusiasts a unique way to explore the state’s diverse beer offerings using just their cell phone.

The Jersey Brew Trail, launched by the state’s Division of Travel and Tourism in November, utilizes a geo-tracking system. Participants sign up online with an email and are tracked via GPS on their phone. Upon visiting a brewery, they automatically receive credit for their visit. After just three check-ins, participants are eligible for rewards such as coasters, glasses, and more, including discounts and exclusive swag at tasting rooms.

One of the breweries highlighted in this initiative is Sunken Silo Brew Works in Lebanon, Hunterdon County, known for its approachable beer selection. Celebrating its 4th anniversary, Sunken Silo exemplifies the kind of unique destinations the Brew Trail aims to spotlight, especially in the less populated areas of New Jersey.

This program is not only about enjoying craft beers but also about encouraging people to explore new places. With a variety of breweries located in different parts of New Jersey, the Brew Trail is an invitation to discover the lesser-known areas of the state while enjoying some of the best locally brewed beers.
