Man Dies in Police Custody After Family Distiurbance

OWINGS MILLS, MD – A fatal incident occurred on Wednesday, involving Baltimore County Police and a man under the influence.

Around 11 p.m., officers from the Franklin Precinct responded to a call regarding a suspicious person near Rosewood Lane and Reisterstown Road.

Upon arrival, they found an adult male causing a disturbance, seemingly under the influence. Despite family members attempting to de-escalate, officers took the individual into custody.


During the arrest, the man’s condition necessitated medical attention. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Given the individual’s death occurred in police custody, the Independent Investigations Division of the Office of the Attorney General is handling the investigation.
