MONROEVILLE, PA — The Allegheny County Police Department has announced the filing of child pornography charges against William (Bill) Spina, 36, of Monroeville, following a three-month investigation conducted in partnership with the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
The investigation, which involved following up on multiple tips, led to the discovery of numerous child pornography images and videos linked to Spina. These files were recovered from cell phone data and social media accounts confirmed to be Spina’s.
On January 11, 2024, authorities executed a search warrant at Spina’s residence, seizing several electronic devices. However, Spina had traveled to Florida by this time. In the evening, with coordination from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, Spina was apprehended by Florida authorities and is set to be extradited back to Allegheny County.
Spina faces multiple charges, including distribution and possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility. The Allegheny County Police continue to seek information from the public regarding this case. This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable individuals.
