BALTIMORE, MD — A prompt response by Baltimore Police officers led to the arrest of a 37-year-old female suspect following an attempted carjacking incident in the city’s Northwest District.
The incident occurred in the early hours of January 15, 2024, around 12:07 a.m. Police were called to the 5100 block of Lanier Avenue after receiving reports of an attempted carjacking.
Upon arrival, they encountered a male victim who recounted a harrowing experience.
The victim reported that he had picked up the female suspect with the intention of dropping her off at a nearby hospital. However, the situation escalated when she refused to exit his vehicle. The victim then stopped in the 5100 block of Lanier Avenue, where the suspect attacked him with a brick and attempted to hijack his vehicle. A struggle ensued, but the suspect eventually fled on foot.
Medical responders transported the victim to a local hospital, where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.
The suspect was quickly apprehended by Baltimore Police officers and taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility.
