Maryland State Police Report High Number of Incidents Amid Snow Emergency

Maryland State Police reported a significant number of road incidents today due to severe weather conditions. Between 2 a.m. and 3 p.m., officers responded to 138 crashes and 108 disabled vehicles, in addition to answering 542 calls for service.

Currently, 14 counties in Maryland are under Snow Emergency Plans. The police are urging residents to stay at home if possible. For those who must travel, the emphasis is on the necessity of staying alert and driving cautiously.

The high number of incidents reflects the challenging road conditions across the state. The Maryland State Police are actively working to ensure road safety and provide assistance where needed. Motorists are advised to follow updates and travel advisories as the situation develops.
