Amarillo, TX – Mandis Charles Barrow, 45, received a life sentence yesterday for multiple drug trafficking offenses involving methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk imposed the sentence following Barrow’s conviction by a federal jury in September.

The trial revealed that during a February 18, 2021 traffic stop, law enforcement discovered $15,000 and significant quantities of methamphetamine in Barrow’s vehicle. Further investigations linked Barrow to a residence in Amarillo, where authorities seized fentanyl, cocaine, and additional methamphetamine in October 2022.

Barrow’s criminal history, dating back to his teens, includes violent offenses and prior drug convictions. Judge Kacsmaryk cited this extensive and violent record as a key factor in the life sentence decision.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Anna Marie Bell, following an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration. U.S. Attorney Leigha Simonton for the Northern District of Texas announced the sentencing.
