Jefferson Township Police Chief Paul Castimore and Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon have announced a successful police-supported activity that took place on Highview Terrace. This operation, spanning from the evening of Friday until the late morning of Saturday, January 20, was a joint investigation conducted by the Jefferson Township Police Department and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, aided by various law enforcement resources.

The activity was in response to a Court Order from the Morris County Superior Court, Chancery Division, authorizing the Sheriff’s Office to take possession of a residence under an eviction order in the Lake Shawnee Community. Recognizing the potential for community concern and rumors about such incidents, Chief Castimore and Sheriff Gannon emphasized that the police presence was purely precautionary, and there was no immediate threat or danger to residents at any time.

Throughout the operation, both departments worked collaboratively, focusing on peacefully resolving the property transfer while ensuring the safety of the neighborhood.

Chief Castimore expressed gratitude for the residents’ cooperation and patience during public safety operations. Similarly, Sheriff Gannon appreciated the strong law enforcement partnerships within Morris County and with state and federal agencies. He commended all involved for their commitment to community protection, highlighting the safe outcome of the operation.
