Baltimore County, MD – Baltimore County Police Department has intensified its search for leads in the unsolved homicide of 46-year-old Yang Yoon, which occurred on January 21, 1997. The case, remaining open for over two decades, witnessed a significant development with the release of a composite sketch of a suspect.

The incident unfolded at approximately 9 p.m. at Selma’s Liquor Store, located at 4602 Washington Boulevard. Police responded to reports of a robbery and shooting at the store. Upon arrival, officers found Yoon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigations revealed that Yoon was in the store’s basement when two suspects entered with the intent to rob. Yoon confronted the suspects after running upstairs, leading to a struggle during which he was fatally shot. The suspects were last seen fleeing in a small, green, newer model car.

A witness, who observed the suspects before the incident, provided a detailed description of one of the suspects, enabling the creation of the composite sketch. The Baltimore County Police Department is urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward. There is a reward of up to $2,000 for information that could aid in solving this homicide.

This renewed appeal for public assistance underscores the department’s commitment to bringing closure to long-standing unsolved cases. Community cooperation is crucial in providing justice for victims and their families.
