ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department reported the arrest of two individuals in separate incidents involving illegal possession of handguns.

In the first incident Friday morning, at approximately 11:03 AM, Detective Eric Evans acted on a tip from a concerned citizen about a man with a handgun in a convenience store on the 600 block of New York Avenue. Detective Evans, along with other detectives from the Special Investigations Section, located and arrested Khalil Bass in the store. Bass was found with a loaded handgun concealed in his waistband.

Later that day, at around 5:19 PM, patrol officers responded to a report of a man displaying a handgun in the 700 block of Drexel Avenue. Officer Riley Flynn, along with other officers, arrived at the updated location and spotted Jaydin Taylor and another male matching the description. Upon approach, both individuals attempted to flee. The accompanying male, a juvenile, was detained, fell, and then released to his mother’s custody.

Officer Edwin Maldonado and Syid Evans-White pursued Taylor, who was eventually apprehended after a brief escape attempt while handcuffed. Taylor was found in possession of a handgun reported stolen from Camden County, NJ, and had several active warrants for his arrest.
