ROSEVILLE, California – In an unusual theft incident, a woman was apprehended by police for stealing Stanley water bottles valued at approximately $2,500. The Roseville Police Department responded to the theft, which occurred at a retail store on Stanford Ranch Road, about 25 miles northeast of Sacramento.

According to the police statement, store staff observed the woman leaving with a cart full of Stanley water bottles without paying. Despite staff attempts to intervene, the suspect loaded the stolen items into her car and left the scene. An officer later conducted a traffic stop as the suspect’s car, filled with the stolen merchandise, merged onto the highway.

During a search of her vehicle, police recovered 65 Stanley products, confirming their total value near $2,500. The popularity of Stanley water bottles, partly driven by influencer endorsements and a trend emphasizing the health benefits of hydration, was noted by the officials. However, they stressed that stealing these items is a crime and does not justify the means to quench hydration habits.
