An occasional player from the upper Eastern Shore in Maryland struck gold with a $100,000 win from a Maryland Lottery scratch-off. The Caroline County resident, who prefers to play when the mood strikes, has earmarked the entire prize for his daughters’ college funds.

The lucky winner, who has previously won smaller amounts, expressed his surprise and delight at winning such a substantial amount. He noted that his brother, also a lottery enthusiast, had previously won a significant prize a few years earlier. While his wife doesn’t participate in lottery games, the winner enjoys the occasional play, finding it a joyful activity.

The winning ticket came from the $100,000 Ca$h game, a $30 scratch-off ticket that was launched in September. The game initially offered 65 top prizes of $100,000, and following this win, 57 top prizes remain unclaimed. Additionally, the game boasts over a million lower-tier prizes ranging from $30 to $5,000, providing numerous opportunities for other players to win.
