TREVOSE, PA – A six-month investigation by Bensalem Police culminated in the arrest of 35-year-old James Shulski from Helen Street in Trevose, for a fatal hit-and-run incident.

On the evening of July 6, 2023, at approximately 10:15 pm, police were called to Street Road near the Route 1 overpass. There, they discovered a critically injured 14-year-old boy lying in the road. Despite life-saving efforts, the boy succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation revealed that a gray Honda Accord was involved in the accident. Surveillance footage showed the vehicle stopping briefly after the incident before fleeing westbound into Lower Southampton. The car was later traced to Shulski’s residence, where it was found with damage indicative of the collision. Shulski, who resided at the address, declined to answer police inquiries.

Further investigation involving surveillance cameras, license plate readers, and a detailed examination of Shulski’s cell phone records placed him near the crash scene at the time of the incident. DNA evidence from the vehicle’s steering wheel matched Shulski’s known DNA sample.

On Tuesday, Shulski surrendered to Bensalem Police and was charged with Accidents Involving Death or Person Injury and Duty to Give Information and Render Aid. He was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone, with bail set at 10% of $100,000, which was posted by family members. Shulski was released pending further proceedings.
