Citrus County, FL – In a shocking case of animal neglect, Rory Alexander and Angelica Addison, both 30 years old, have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of felony animal cruelty. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) made the arrests following a distressing discovery at their residence on S Tyler Street in Beverly Hills.
The situation unfolded when Animal Control Officers (ACO) responded to a barking complaint at the couple’s home. Upon arrival, they found three small Chihuahuas roaming in a front yard littered with garbage. The disturbing scene included a strong smell of ammonia and feces emanating from the residence. Through a window, ACOs spotted a bulldog-type puppy and a white husky in poor conditions.
Further investigation in the backyard revealed a malnourished Chihuahua lying on a blanket, barely responsive and struggling to move. This dog was immediately taken to Citrus County Animal Services for urgent care. Concerned that the homeowner might require medical attention, deputies and ACOs entered the house to find deplorable conditions. The residence, lacking power, was covered in feces, urine, and trash. They found a large, thin husky in a filthy crate and another husky lying on a moldy, feces-covered couch.
As the ACOs were rescuing the last dog, Alexander and Addison arrived and were subsequently arrested. They claimed they visited the house daily to care for the dogs. All eight dogs were signed over to the county and are currently receiving medical attention at the shelter.
Sheriff Mike Prendergast expressed his gratitude to the individual who reported the abhorrent conditions and encouraged others to report any signs of animal abuse. He emphasized, “There wasn’t an inch of this house that wasn’t covered in feces, urine, or garbage. There is zero excuse to force innocent animals to live in these disgusting conditions.”
