Murder Suspect Nabbed in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – In a significant development in a homicide case from earlier this month, the Central District Homicide Unit has made a crucial arrest. Tanare Williams, a 24-year-old resident of Capital Heights, MD, was apprehended in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on January 4th in the Central District.

The incident under investigation involved the death of 31-year-old Antoine Johnson. According to the investigators, the shooting took place following an altercation with Williams inside the Unit block of North Eutaw Street. This tragic event has since been under thorough examination by the homicide detectives.

The arrest was executed on Monday by detectives from the Warrant Apprehension unit, working in collaboration with the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Taskforce and CARFTF Greenbelt. Williams was successfully located and taken into custody, following which he was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. He is now facing charges of first-degree murder.


The initial report of the homicide on January 4th was made at around 12:09 a.m., when a Central District officer, while on routine patrol, was alerted by a citizen to a shooting in the unit block of North Eutaw Street. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered an unidentified male with a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as Johnson, was urgently transported to a nearby hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
