MINEOLA, N.Y. – Devin Anthony Magarian, a 21-year-old from Kissimmee, Florida, was arraigned on January 17, for his involvement in a sophisticated prescription drug scheme.

The Nassau County Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, New York State Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, and Florida authorities have collaborated in this ongoing investigation.

Magarian faces charges including Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Diversion of Prescription Medication and Prescriptions.

His arrest follows the commandeering of e-prescribing privileges of multiple doctors to issue and fill thousands of narcotic prescriptions. The scheme involved the use of these credentials to create prescriptions for drugs such as Oxycodone and Promethazine with Codeine.

The arrest took place in New York City, where Magarian was found in possession of a significant sum, allegedly for narcotics prescriptions.
